Adaptive Recreation Programs
For more than 40 years, Metro Parks and Recreation has provided inclusive, supervised recreation opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Programs are designed to foster community, encourage independence, and create meaningful recreational experiences for participants of all ages.

Programs and Activities

The program offers a variety of year-round programs at select Metro Parks community centers and recreation facilities throughout the community, including:

  • Adult Day Programs

  • Adult Sports Leagues

  • Special Olympics

  • Community Day Activities

  • Seasonal and Special Events

Summer Camps
During the summer, day camps are offered for both adults and high school-age youth. Camps incorporate peer partnerships that encourage connection, friendship, and engagement throughout each day’s activities.

The Disabilities Program also works with WeGo Public Transit AccessRide transportation services to help participants travel to and from programs and activities.

Registration and Information

Program capacity is limited, and advance registration is required. Waiting lists are maintained when programs reach capacity. The program headquarters is located at Centennial Sportsplex.
